Feature

AI Booking Assistant

Guests book by talking to it — or typing.

What it's for

The Digital Assistant is a conversation on your booking page instead of a form. A guest says “a table for four on Friday evening” — out loud or typed — and the assistant works out the rest: how many people, which day, which of your genuinely free times, and the details it needs to hold the spot.

It is not a chatbot bolted onto a website. It reads your real availability while it talks, so it can only ever offer times you can actually honour, and the booking it makes is an ordinary booking: it lands on your mainboard, sends the same confirmation, and appears in your history like any other.

Guests who would rather fill in the form still can. The assistant is an extra door into the same booking, for the people who find talking faster than tapping.

How to reach & use it

1
Switch it on
In the Planner, open Preferences and enable “Digital Assistant (Beta)”. It is off until you turn it on.
2
Nothing else to share
The assistant lives on the booking page you already share — the same link and QR code as Online Booking. No second link to hand out.
3
Your guest picks talk or type
They tap Talk to speak to it, or Type to write. Typing asks for no microphone permission at all.
4
They confirm, you are done
The assistant shows the booking back to them to tap and confirm. It reaches your mainboard immediately, exactly like a booking made on the form.

Limits & good to know

It is in beta, and marked so in your Preferences.
Every conversation uses metered AI minutes billed to us by the AI provider. We cover that cost for now; as usage grows the assistant will become a paid add-on.
Guests can always book manually on the same page instead — that costs nothing, and the assistant offers it whenever it cannot help.
Talking needs microphone permission in the guest's browser. If they decline, typing still works.
The assistant can only offer times that are genuinely free, within your opening hours and your real capacity — it has no way to overbook you.

Frequently asked questions

Does my guest need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser on your ordinary booking page — no app, no sign-up, and no microphone unless they choose to talk.

What happens if the assistant does not understand?

It points the guest at the normal booking form on the same page, so a confused conversation never costs you the booking.

Can it book a time I am not actually free?

No. It reads your live availability while it talks, so the times it offers are the same ones the booking form would show.
