Sections

One area of your floor at a time.

What it's for

A venue with two floors and a patio has three teams. Each wants to see its own tables, without scrolling past everyone else’s.

A section is simply a name you give each unit: First Floor, Second Floor, Patio. Once your units have one, a picker in the corner of the mainboard shows the board one section at a time, or All of it.

Each device remembers the section it last showed. The tablet on the patio opens on the patio, and the one at the front desk keeps showing everything.

How to reach & use it

Give a unit its section

In your Tables (or Rooms, or Stations) settings, tap the cog on a unit and type its section under “Section (optional)”, for example First Floor. Sections you have already used appear as chips you can tap.

Repeat for each area

Units with the same section name are grouped together. Capital letters do not matter: “patio” and “Patio” are one section.

Pick a section on the mainboard

Tap the picker in the top corner of the board, where it says All, and choose a section. The board now shows only that section’s units.

Switch back to All

Choose All in the same picker to see every unit again.

Limits & good to know

Sections are optional. Until a unit has one, the mainboard looks exactly as before.

A section name can be up to 24 characters, short enough to read on a phone.

Sections only change what the mainboard SHOWS. Bookings, availability and the online booking page are not affected.

The chosen section is remembered per device, not per person.

A unit belongs to one section at most.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests see my sections?

No. Sections are for your team’s view of the board. Your online booking page is unchanged.

How do I rename a section?

Change the section name on each of its units. The list of sections is simply whatever names your units carry, so there is nothing else to update.

Can a waiter see only their area?

Yes. Pick the section on that waiter’s device and it stays on that section until someone picks another one.
