Hold Online Bookings

Stop new online bookings for the rest of the day — without closing.

What it's for

Some days get away from you. A chef calls in sick, a large party runs over, or the room is simply full — and the last thing you need is another online booking landing for tonight.

Hold stops NEW online bookings for a date from this moment onward. Everything already in the book stays exactly as it is, and your staff can still take bookings at the front desk or over the phone. It is a pause on the internet, not on the venue.

Guests who open your booking page see that the day is unavailable — and, if you write one, the reason in your own words. That is far better than a page that silently offers no times.

How to reach & use it

1
Tap Hold on the mainboard
The hand-stop button sits beside the Waiting List button, and acts on the date the board is showing.
2
Say why, if you want to
Add a short note guests will see on your booking page — “Fully booked tonight” or “Private event”. Up to 200 characters, and entirely optional.
3
Confirm with the admin passcode
Holding a day is a decision only the owner or a supervisor should make, so it is behind the admin passcode from your Business Bio.
4
Release it when you are ready
Turn the switch off to reopen the day. A hold only ever affects the date it was set for, so it never carries over on its own.

Limits & good to know

A hold blocks ONLINE bookings only — you and your staff can still add bookings from the front desk or the mainboard.
It applies from the moment you set it, onward. Bookings already taken for that day are never cancelled or changed.
Times are your venue's timezone, so “from now” means now where you are, not where the guest is.
The admin passcode is required. It is visible to the owner and supervisors and hidden from coworkers.
A held day shows guests “Unavailable” rather than “Closed” — the venue is open, it is only online booking that is paused.
Holds for past dates are cleared automatically after 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

Will my existing bookings be cancelled?

No. A hold only stops new online bookings arriving. Everything already on the board is untouched, and guests keep their confirmations.

Can I still seat someone who walks in?

Yes. Hold affects your online booking page only. Front desk, phone bookings and anything your staff add on the mainboard all work as normal.

Do I have to remember to switch it off?

A hold belongs to one date, so it stops mattering once that day passes. Release it earlier if the evening frees up.
