Collect Payments

Take a deposit when the booking is made — the money goes straight to you.

A cosa serve

No-shows cost more than an empty table: the kitchen prepped, the staff were rostered, and the guests you turned away went somewhere else. A deposit taken at the moment of booking changes the arithmetic — people who have paid turn up, and the ones who cannot come tell you in time.

You decide when it applies. Every reservation, or only the chef's table, or only parties over six, or only Friday and Saturday nights. Set nothing and it applies to everything; set two conditions and both have to be true before a guest is asked for a penny.

The money is yours from the start. Guests pay into your own payment account, not into ours — we never hold your takings. You connect the account once and payouts arrive on your provider's normal schedule.

Come raggiungerla e usarla

1
Open Collect Payments
On your dashboard, tap the Collect Payments block. It sits with your other settings blocks and shows which provider you are connected to.
2
Confirm where your business is registered
We fill this in from your business details. It is the country your payment account is opened in — check it, because your provider can never move an account to another country afterwards.
3
Choose the currency you charge in
The currency your guests are charged in and you are paid out in. Like the country, it locks once a provider is connected.
4
Connect Stripe
Tap Stripe and finish their form — business details, bank account and an identity check. It happens on Stripe's own pages and usually takes a few minutes. You come straight back here when it is done.
5
Switch on prepayment and set the amount
Turn on Require prepayment and type the deposit, for example 10.00. This is a flat amount per reservation, not per guest.
6
Narrow it down, or leave it for everyone
Three optional conditions: only certain tables, only parties of at least N, only on certain days. Leave a condition empty and it matches everything. Whatever you do set has to ALL apply — Terrace plus six guests plus Friday means exactly that, not any of the three.
7
Save
The Save button lights up only when something has actually changed. From that moment the next matching booking asks for the deposit.

Limiti e informazioni utili

Your guests are told the amount before they type anything — the booking page shows it as soon as they have picked a table and time, and the confirm button reads Pay and book. Nobody meets a charge by surprise.
No payment, no reservation. If a guest abandons the payment page nothing is saved and the slot stays free. The table is held for them while they pay, so nobody pays for a table that has just gone.
Prepayment can only be switched on while a provider is connected and actually able to accept payments. If your provider is disconnected later, bookings will not silently go through free — they are refused with a message.
Deposits are recorded but not automatically refunded. Cancelling a paid booking does not return the money; do that from your provider's dashboard, where the refund belongs.
Small deposits are proportionally expensive. Card processing has a fixed component, so a two-pound deposit can lose a large share of itself to fees — most venues set something in double figures.
One provider at a time. PayPal and Grow appear in the list and are not connectable yet.

Domande frequenti

Where does the money go?

Into your own payment account, directly. We never hold it. Payouts to your bank follow your provider's normal schedule, which for Stripe is usually a couple of days.

Does the guest get a receipt?

Yes. The confirmation screen shows the amount and a link to the card receipt, the amount is repeated in the WhatsApp confirmation they keep, and they can ask for a written statement by email from the confirmation page.

Can I charge per person instead of per booking?

Not yet — the deposit is one flat amount per reservation, whatever the party size. If you want large groups to pay more, the practical approach today is to require the deposit only for parties above a certain size.

What happens if two guests book the same table at once?

The table is held while a guest pays, so the second guest never gets that far. In the rare case a member of staff books over a held table from the mainboard, the payment is flagged and the guest is told to contact you — no double booking is created.

Will my staff see that a booking was paid?

Yes. Paid bookings carry a blue money marker on the mainboard, and the booking itself shows the amount received with a link to the receipt — so a no-show is handled knowing the guest has already paid.

Does the assistant know about it?

Yes. If a guest books by talking to your digital assistant, it tells them the deposit amount before asking for their details and repeats it in the summary. It never takes the payment itself.
